Short Essay -Writing IV-

-China-
Olympic Game was held in China, 2008. I watched these game and I was impressed with Olympic Game's opening ceremony. After that, I have been interested in China. Japan where I live and China is close to see geographic and cultural features and both country have had exchange long time. I want to know China afresh.

China is the largest country in East Asia and it was built by Chinese Communist Party in 1949 and China is socialism country. China has over 1.3 billion people(the number is the biggest in the world), capital is Beijing(Olympic Game was held there).

There are many nation in China. It is the most different things with Japan. Japan is homogeneous nation, but China has many nations. Han Chinese is the biggest nation. Similarly, there are many dialect in China.

Japan and China have many problems among both countries. It was occurred historically or politically. There are problems haven't solved yet, we should do something to solve problems of both countries.

This time, I could know China a little, and I knew there are many problems among both countries. I want to know China more and I have never been to China, so I want to go there in the near future.

Mixi

Mixi is one of several SNS sites in Japan, and it has over ten million users. It is like a blog, we can write diary, paste some photes and also we can read diary other people wrote. A lot of my friends do mixi, especially, club members are the most numbers in my mixi. I have registered as "i-pi"(it origin is my nickname), and I have over one hundred my mixis. I often use mixi, when I have free time or I look in mixi as resorce. Mixi is very interesting because I can know my friends though I don't change e-mail. I really enjoy mixi! If you know me and you do mixi, apply as my mixi without reserve. (131 words)

Hair Style

After coming of the age day, some of my friends cut their hair to short hair. My hair have always been short hair. I worry how dose my hair, I'm thinking whether I wear my hair long or not. I like bob hair style and like a hair like a picture. I have the length of hair like a picture now. And I have dyed dark color for a adult ceremony, so I want to change hair color to light color. Because we must job hunting this autumn , this time is last chance to dye hair light color. Um....How I should do?(105 words)

After The Party.....★

After Sanae & King's farewell party, we moved to TUTAYA to take Print club pictures(Purikura).
There were 13 people, so it was too narrow, to come out everyone. After we took Purikura, I noticed that 3 person lacked in the picture. But I enjoyed taking Purikura with strange member. The memberes joined the party will not gather from now on. Because those member don't be together in University. Our class separates 1 kumi and 2 kumi, but in the party , class didn't relate! I thought we was bound by new ties of friendship after the day. I felt happy , I could take part in the party.(108 words)

Sanae & King's Farewell Party

18th. January, 2009, the day, a farewell party was held. Because Sanae and King will go to New Zealand to study abroad for about 10 months. They will depart tomorrow(29th. January) morning. I feel very sad. I like them very much!

The party was held in Cheap Sweer bar, half & half. I have never been the shop, there were many cheap candies which give me the good old days, it was very interesting to us. We could eat cheap candies as much as we like for base prise plus ￥300 yen at the shop. We enjoyed talking and eating cheap candies.

I'm very sad, you will go to New Zealand tomorrow. But I believe you that you can enjoy New Zealand' life and skill up English. I cheer you from Japan. I'm wating for the day you will go back. Take care of yourself! (148 words)

Stone of Heart

Look! I found a stone, it shaped heart. Perhaps, there is only me, I saw shape of stone as heart. I found the stone in Ariake. When I and my friend went to Rippuru Land in Ariake, Kumamoto, we walked on the rock. I walked with looking down because those rock were very ragged. Then, I could find the stone by accident! When I found the stone, I was happy without meaning and I had fun . I thought some good incident will happen to me surely.

★Mynsha★

We made a group in Eibei department last year. We call it "Mynsha", it name's origin was group member's first name's initial. M: Masumi, Misa, Misa, Marina and Mari, Y: Yoshie, N: Natsuki, S: Sayaka, H: Haruna, A: Ayaka, Ayaka, and Ayami. (Same name is many;)We are often together while lunch break and vacant time. Our group member are many, so we havet never gathered every members. We talk trivial stories and I really enjoy when I spend time with them. Mynsha is precious existence to me. I don't say that in front of them because I am ashamed to say. (101 words)

Parisian flea market

Do you know a flea market? It is a type of bazaar where secondhand goods are sold, and it hold every week. Especially, parisian flea market is popular in the world.
There are three flea market in Paris. A flea market of Clignancourt is the biggest, and there is northern edge of Paris. The flea market is very large. There are many types shops and various things. For example, there are high-class furniture or art which former nobleman used , archaic toys, books, and post cards, there lines every things. A flea market of Clignancourt held every Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I want to go there someday! (107 words)

Today is last class but.......

I had have influenza 2 days ago! I want to go to school, but I can't do that. 2 days ago, I had a fever of 38 degrees, but I went to go to school because now was a week before test, so I didn't want to be absent from school. After school, I went to go hospital to see the doctor. That day, I took the test whether I have flu or not. The result of the test, it didn't show as I have flu. So, I was only given some medicines except the medicine of flu. But the night, I had a fever of 38 degrees more, in spite of that I had medicines I brought from hospital. I had a question whether I really hadn't flu. The next day, I was absent from school although there were compulsory subject. And I went to same hospital again I went to there yesterday. And I took the test of flu... it showed I have flu! Oh, my got! I was shocked that very much, because there will be plans tomorrow and day after tomorrow I have been looking forward before winter vacation. I must absent these plans. I really was shocked and I felt depressed. That is why I am absent today. (214 words)

The Elves and the Shoemaker

I read "The Elves and the Shoemaker"in this time. The story was written by Grimm brothers. At first, I liked the book's face cover, there were two pretty elves, so I chose this book.
This story was about shoemaker and elves. An old shoemaker, each day he laid his leather, drew different shoe shapes, cut them out, and sewed them together. Then he stretched the shoe shapes over wooden foot, cut out more leather and sewed it on. Finally, he cut out thick soles, made holes in them with a huge needles and sewed the soles onto the shoes. He did his all work by himself.
The shoe he made was very popular, people loved to watching the shoemaker's work.
But one day, a cart was written "CHEAP SHOES" came the town. The seller sold his shoes at cheaper price than shoemaker's price. But the cheaper shoes were badly sewn, with poor leather. But people were delighted and bought the seller's shoes. Because of the seller, the shoemaker was miserable. He was running out of money, and he couldn't afford to make shoes. He possibly prepare to make one pair of shoes. The day, he was tired and went to bed early with laying them on his work table.
Nert morning, He was surprised and Unbelievable thing happened to him. There was a perfect pair of shoes on his work table. He thought it must be magic. Next day, and next day same thing happened. The shoes someone made were gorgeous and perfect. Those shoes sold like hot cakes. So, shoemaker gradually had plenty on money. While the seller who have sold shoes cheaper was not happy and costumers accused him of badly shoes.
One night, shoemaker wanted to know who made his shoes. He stayed awake and hid behind some coat in the workshop. Once in a while, two little elves rushed in, and quickly began to sew. And he listened that cheaper shoe's seller use other elves to make cheap shoes, and they wished the other elves had escaped. They had an idea, if we can put that wicked shoe seller out if business, the other elves will be free. After they made shoes, they disappeared somewhere. Then, their idea came true. The seller came out the town, and the other elves were released from him.
After that, the elves didn't appear in the workshop and they never sewed another shoe.
I liked the story. I thought the shoemaker was very lucky.It was good that the other elves were caught were released. Elves were very cute, and I want to make friends with them. (430 words)

The Burglar's breakfast

I read "The Burglar's breakfast". The main character is Alfie Briggs. He is a burglar, and he had stolen many things from until now. He often stole things at the night, so breakfast is his main meal of the day. There were five things he liked best. And he had never ran out of these things. It was cornflakes, eggs, sardines, waffles, and fruits.
One day, he came to be hungry and would eat breakfast. So, he would take cornflakes from shelf. But there wasn't a box of cornflakes. In stead of, there was trail of cornflakes, and it was leading out of the door. He noticed the cornflakes was stolen by someone. He started to chase the thief. The thief was a goat! He gave up cornflakes and went to home.
Other things he liked best were stolen like cornflakes. He was shocked about that, and he gave up, went to a cafe to eat breakfast. He thought he want a job, he didn't want to return burglar. He took newspaper on the table, and he found a page. It was a page recruitment of detective. He could think of some reason for he go well to be a detective. When he was stolen food he liked best, he could find the clue and trace the thief. After that, he became a detective who can catch thieves.
The story was end here. It was interesting story. He was a burglar, so he was a person who stole things from other people. But he was stolen foods he liked best. It was so funny. I thought he is fool but cute. And in spite of he was a burglar, he became a detective catch burglar. It was also funny thing. (290 words)

The Fox and the Crow

I read "The fox and the Crow" this time. It was very short story and it was easy to read. I read this book for 2 minutes.
There was a fox was very hungry and a crow had cheese with beak on the tree. The fox wanted some cheese a crow had, so he thought method can get some cheese. He continued to praise a crow. And he said the crow "I want to listen your song". Then, the crow opened his beak without a shade of hestitaion. The cheese fell from the crow's beak and a foc could get some cheese.
I thought the fox is sharp, but it was clever. A crow was beaten to the fox's wit. If I were the fox, I couldn't get cheese. Because I am afraide of the crow's revenge. His beat is sharp, so if I was sticked with his beat, it seemes to be hurt.(153 words)

Animal Legends

I read "Animal Legends".　There were 3 stories in the book. These stories was "The cat and the rat", "Why monkeys live in trees", and "The rabbidts and the crocodile". Each stories was easy to read and it was interesting. In the book, I pick up about the first story, "The cat and the rat"
Needless to say, the main characters was a cat and a rat. I have thought a cat doesn't get along with a rat, and I have a image cats always chase rats, like "Tom and Jerry". I can't believe it now, cats and rats were best friends long time ago. They live happily on an island where there were all they need. But they were too happy, they were tired of the life. There was nothing to do for them. So, they came to look for another place to live. They made a boat it was made of trees. When they rowed with two oars, a cat fell asleep and a rat got to be hungry. So, the rat nibbled the boat a little when a cat was falling asleep. The rat too nibble, water started to slosh up through the boat, and they had to swim toward land. The cat doesn't like to wet, then, he was very angry to the rat. He tried to eat the rat, but the rat run away from the cat. Like this, cats always came to chase rats.
After I read the story, I thought it was funny. If the rat didn't fault, they might have been good friends, I think. (261 words)

nursery school's class reunion

The nursery school's crass reunion will hold today's daylight. I will partipate in the class reunion. I have gone to "Ayumi nursery school" before I go to elementary school. I have gone to Ayumi nursery school for two years. I entered the nursery school when I was 5 years old. In those days, Akko Sensei and Harumi sensei took charge of our class. I remembered that I enjoyed going to Ayumi nursery school and playing with classmate. There was a dog which called "Chibi". I was afraid of Chibi at the first, and I have been bitten by Chibi once. But without notice, I liked Chibi and I made a friend with Chibi. Sadly, Chibi died 5 years ago. I still remenber Chibi vividly.
There were 18 people,including me, in our crass. I still remember some freind's name. Especially, I played with Akko chan well. We played house or we often have made muddy cake. There were many playground equipment in Ayumi nursery school. There were block and play house's toy in the room. And there were tricycle, scoop, Untei, Noboribo, and athletic place. I think the athletic place was very good. It was made by our fathers. They made it from first. They gather many trees in mountain, and cut trees and make athletic place for children. I liked the athletic place. I thought I was hardened with playing athletic place.
Story changes, class reunion of nursery school will hold today. I will meet the then classmates and teachers. I have two feelings. On one hand I 'm looking forward to seeing them, on the other hand I don't to want to go to the union. But I, and my father and my mother will take part in it.
So, we watched the then photos and then album. We laughed when we watched photos.Needless to say, I who was come out in those photes was young and smaller than now. There was a phote I was stark naked! I have forgotten some classmate's name and teacher's name, but after I watched the album, I remenberd their name naturally. I was glad about that. Then photes brought me back old memories. We had good time during we watched many photes.(368words)

Hakone Long-distance relay road race

Did you watch "The 85th Hokone Long-distance relay road race"? It is one of popular sports event in Japan. It has been held on 2nd and 3rd January in Hakone, Kanagawa prefecture since 1920. Only university's male runner run this race. This two day race from Otemochi to Hokone and turning back was separated into five section each day. Each runner runs one section, so each university's team has ten runners. They run with their university's ' sashes, and at a station they alternate with the next runner, handing over the sash to him. First day distance is 108.0km while the distance on the second day is 109.9km

The first half , on January 2
The first section (21.4km) From Otemachi, Tokyo to Tsurumi, Yokohama

This is one of the most important sections because the first runner’s rank affects how the team performs in this marathon relay. So every team makes strong runner run in this section. The whole course is flat, but there are some ups and downs.

The second section (23.2km) From Tsurumi to Totsuka
Traditionally, the fastest runner in each team usually runs on this course. This course is very severe because there are two long and steep slopes. Every year, some runners overtake others in this section, so we can expect exciting race.

The third section (21.5km) From Totsuka to Hiratsuka

In this section, strong sea wind troubles runners, but they can enjoy beautiful scenery such as Mt.Fuji. A lot of spectators come to this section to cheer runners.
The fourth section (18.5km) From Hiratsuka to Odawara
This section is the shortest of all sections. There are many ups and downs, so it is difficult for runners to keep their pace.
The fifth section (23.4km) From Odawara to Lake Ashi, Hakone

This section is the longest one. Runners must run up steep slopes, which is about 800m high. And after climbing, they have to go down. So this is the most severe section.

The second half, on January 3
The sixth section (20.8km) From Lake Ashi, Hakone to Odawara
At first runners run up a little, then they run down steep slopes. These slopes are very hard on runners' legs, so a lot of them slow down just before goal. They start running at about 8 o’clock. To protect themselves against the cold, many of them wear uniforms with long sleeves.
The seventh section (21.3km) From Odawara to Hiratsuka
The difference of temperature between the start and the goal is larger than any other section. This course is almost flat until 9km, but after that there are some ups and downs. The record of this section is the oldest of all section.
The eighth section (21.5km) From Hiratsuka to Totsuka
The first half of this section is almost flat, but second one has a slope so-called Yugyōji-no-saka which causes runners severe difficulties. Some teams which run around the 10th place start to worry whether they are seeded or not.
The ninth section (23.2km) From Totsuka to Tsurumi
This section is the longest in the second day’s sections. There are many downs, so runners must control their speed. At this section, many teams reverse their places.
The tenth section (23.1km) From Tsurumi to Otemachi, Tokyo
This is the last section of Hakone marathon race. This course is almost flat, but sometimes a strong wind blows among the very tall building. There are goal tape, and teams above 10th place get seeded and can participate in the Hakone Ekiden the next year.

23 university participated in Hokone Ekiden this time. It was most numbers in the past. In this race, ToyoUniversity（東洋大学） won the synthetic victory. They got it the first time. They were watched wonderful running. Other universities also were watched wonderful running. When I was watching the Ekiden, my heart was touched with their running. I thought every runner was wonderful. I want to clap for everyone and say "I appreciate your wonderful running". (635words)

Disappointed

Today was January 1st, that is to say, it was New Year's Day. I wanted to spend with relax but it was my dream. Because I had a part-time job today! I worked from 4 pm to 9 pm. The hourly wage is higher than usual while the New Year holidays. I thought it is good thing, but I feel not good. I must work almost my New Year holiday. Oh-no! Especially, this year's winter vacation of school is shorter than last year. Why? I want vacation more. Customers is fewer than usual, and I have nothing to do while I was working. If I didn't have a part-time job, I could go to Tamana to meet my grandfather, my grandmother and aunt. I regretted that I didn't meet them.
I have a part- time job tomorrow and day after tomorrow. I came to think I can earn lot of money.(151words)

Osechi-ryori

I ate Osechi-ryori in this morning, and I drank O-toso.

Osechi-ryōri are traditional Japanese New Year foods.

The dishes that make up osechi each have a special meaning celebrating the New Year. Some examples are:
Kazunoko , herring roe. Kazu means "number" and ko means "child". It symbolizes a wish to be gifted with numerous children in the New Year. Konbu, a kind of seaweed. It is associated with the word yorokobu, meaning "joy". Kuro-mame , blackly soybeans. Mame also means "health," symbolizing a wish for health in the New Year. Tazukuri , dried sardines cooked in soy souce The literal meaning of the kanji in tazukuri is "rice paddy maker", as the fish were used historically to fertilize rice fields. The symbolism is of an abundant harvest. Zoni, a soup of mochi rice cakes in clear broth or miso broth.O-toso, is spiced medicinal sake traditionally drunk during New year celebrations in Japan.

To say truth, I don't like Osechi-ryori and O-toso. These thing is not good taste for me. If I can ,I don' t want to eat.(177words)

A visit to a temple on New Year's Day!

I paid a visit to "the Sannomiya temple" on New Year's Day with my mother and my younger sister. The temple is a place that take 10 minutes from my house by car. When we arrived, there have already been lot of people. There was a long line infront of the temple. We also lined the long line. There were more people than last year. While we were lining, it was very cold. I intended to wear many clothes and do protection against cold.... but it was very cold. We waited about 40 minutes for visit a temple. I through ￥100 yen and I said my prayers for god. My prayer is of couse secret! I hope my prayer come true.After that, I drew a fortune slip. I drew nomal type and a fortune slip for love. The result of nomal fortune slip was very good luck! I beacme in high spirit with joy. On the other hand, the fortune slip for love was good luck. I wsa very happy. It was written good message. I and my sister tied these fortune slip into temple's branch. Surely 2009 is happy year for me. (194words)

★Happy New Year 2009★

Happy New Year 2009! This is the Year of the Cow in Chinese astrology. I was very happy last year. There were many good encounter, and I made good friends. Also, I challenged many things. I took a secretary examination, got 2 great the examination and I could go to New Zealand to homestay. I experienced many things in New Zealand. These memories became my precious treasure. And I and my close friends made a group in the department. We call it "mynsha". It made group's name with each member's initials. My university's life became more happily and pleasantly through mynsha. I got enjoyable to go to school. We hold birthday party or went to Aso to watch night view. I enjoy when I stay with them. Also, I join club is "HOSPI" is very enjoyable. I'm comfortable while I spend time with club's member. Sometimes there is bad thing, but there are many good things. I'm happy I'm member of HOSPI. I want to make precious memories with club's members.
Like these, 2008 was very full, and I could feel a sense of fulfillment. I appreciate my surrounding people.
I want to make good year 2009! I' ll challenge new things and I want to increase friends.
I became 20 years old last July. I have consciousness of adult, and I have responsibility that act of myself. Anyway, I hope 2009 is good year for everyone.(235words)
